August 2023, Palangka Raya Municipality Experiences 0.24% Deflation

·      August 2023, Palangka Raya Municipality Experiences 0.24 percent deflation and The Consumer Price Index is about 116.41. Out of 90 national CPI monitoring cities, 44 cities experienced inflation and 46 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Manokwari by 0.55 percent with number of Consumer Price Index about 112.04. Meanwhile the highest deflation occurred in Waingapu by 1.20 percent with number of Consumer Price Index about 114.93.

·        Deflation in Palangka Raya was influenced by transportation group price by 0.86 percent; the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.52; household equipment and routine maintenance about 0.04 percent; the household appliances, water, electricity and household fuels by 0.01 percent. There are group that have no changed are the food and beverage/ restaurant supply group. Meanwhile inflation was influenced by the education group by 0.36percent; the recreation, sports, and culture group by 0.16; the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.05; the personal care group and other services group by 0.04 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.03 percent; and the health group by 0.03.

·        Inflation rate for  calendar year (January - August 2023) is 1.35 percent and year-on-year inflation rate (August 2023 against August 2022) is 2.78 percent.
