Abstract

Out of 90 national CPI monitoring cities, 34 cities experienced inflation and 56 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kendari by 0.62 percent and the highest deflation occurred in Sorong by 1.04 percent. Palangka Raya ranks 35th highest deflation city at the national level.
Deflation in Palangka Raya by 0.14 percent was mainly influenced by food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.51 percent; household equipment and routine maintenance by 0.09 percent; the transportation group price by 0.04 percent. While the group that experienced increase in clothing and footwear group by 0.22 percent; the personal care group and other services group by 0.17 percent and health group by 0.05 percent.
Inflation rate for August 2021 calendar year is 1.06 percent and year-on-year inflation rate (August 2021 against August 2020) is 1.71 percent.
