Abstract

In September 2022, the level of income inequality in Kalimantan Tengah is measured by the Gini Ratio of 0.309. This figure decreased by 0.010 points compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2022 which was 0.319 and 0.011 points from the Gini Ratio in September 2021.
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2022 was recorded at 0.332, down from the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.348 and the Gini Ratio in September 2021 (0.356).
  • The Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2022 was recorded at 0.285, down compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2022 which was 0.292 but up 0.001 point from the situation in September 2021.
  • Based on the World Bank's measure of inequality, the distribution of expenditure in the bottom 40 percent is 21.14 percent. This means that population spending in September 2022 is in the category of low inequality. If broken down by region, in urban areas it was recorded at 19.72 percent and for rural areas it was 22.37 percent, which also means that it is classified as in the low inequality category.
