September 2021: September 2021 Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.320

Abstract

In September 2021, the level of inequality in the expenditure of the Indonesian population as measured by the Gini Ratio is 0.320. This figure decreased by 0.003 points when compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.323 but was the same as the Gini Ratio in September 2020.
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2021 was recorded at 0.356, an increase compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.353 and decreased compared to the Gini Ratio in September 2020 which was 0.357.
  • The Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2021 was recorded at 0.284, down from the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.292 and the Gini Ratio in September 2020 which was 0.290.
  • Based on the World Bank's measure of inequality, the distribution of spending in the bottom 40 percent is 20.99 percent. This means that population spending in September 2021 is in the category of low inequality level. If broken down by region, in urban areas the figure was recorded at 18.87 percent, which means that it belongs to the category of low inequality. Meanwhile, for rural areas, the figure was recorded at 22.87 percent, which means that it belongs to the category of low inequality.
