Abstract

Out of 90 national CPI monitoring cities, 34 cities experienced inflation and 56 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Gunung Sitoli by 1.00 percent and the highest deflation occurred in Timika by 0.83 percent. Palangka Raya ranks 7th highest deflation city at the national level.
Deflation in Palangka Raya by 0.36 percent was mainly influenced by the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.06 percent; the transportation group price by 0.82 percent; the household appliances, water, electricity and household fuels 0.09 percent; the household equipment and routine maintenance by 0.08 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.03 percent. While the group that experienced an increase in health group of 0.63 percent; the personal care group and other services group by 0.52 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 0.16 percent and the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.06 percent.
Deflation rate for September 2020 calendar year is 0.31 percent and year-on-year inflation rate (September 2020 against September 2019) is 1.18 percent.
