Abstract

• Out of 90 national CPI monitoring cities, 29 cities experienced inflation and 61 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Timika by 1.45 percent and the highest deflation occurred in Manokwari by 1.09 percent. Palangka Raya ranks 29th highest deflation city at the national level.

• Deflation in Palangka Raya by 0.22 percent was mainly influenced by the transportation group price by 1.39 percent; followed by the decline in the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.82 percent. While the group that experienced an increase in education group by 1.90 percent; health group of 0.46 percent;  the household equipment and routine maintenance by 0.40 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.27 percent; the personal care group and other services group by 0.21;  the household appliances, water, electricity and household fuels 0.20 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 0.12 percent; the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.09 percent; the food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 0.02 percent. 

• Inflation rate for July 2020 calendar year is 0.61 percent and year-on-year inflation rate (July 2020 against July 2019) is 1.93 percent.
