The rate of Inequality of Population Expenditure in Kalimantan Tengah in March 2019 was 0.336

Abstract

In March 2019, the level of inequality in Kalimantan Tengah's population expenditure as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.336. This figure is down by 0.008 points when compared to the September 2018 Gini Ratio which is 0.344. Meanwhile, compared to the March 2018 Gini Ratio (0.342), a lower decline was recorded at 0.006 points.
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2019 was recorded at 0.372, an increase of 0.003 points compared to the September 2018 Gini Ratio which was 0.369. Compared to the Gini Ratio a year earlier, there was a larger decline (0.015 points), which was at position 0.387 in March 2018.
  • Meanwhile, the Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2019 was recorded at 0.297, or decreased by 0.021 points compared to the September 2018 figure but tended to increase by 0.002 points against the March 2018 Gini Ratio which was recorded at 0.295.
  • In March 2019, the distribution of expenditure in the lowest 40 percent group was 19.81 percent. This means that population expenditure is in the category of low inequality levels.
  • Specified by region, in urban areas the figure was recorded at 17.61 percent, while rural areas recorded a higher number, which was 21.69 percent. This means that both in urban and rural areas in Kalimantan Tengah fall into the category of low inequality.
