Abstract

In May 2024, year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Palangka Raya City will be 2.80 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.43.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in ten of the eleven expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 6.11 percent; personal care and other services group at 3.28 percent; education group at 3.14 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 2.15 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 2.06 percent; transportation group by 2.01 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 1.15 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.03 percent; health group by 0.02 percent; and the clothing and footwear group at 0.01 percent. The expenditure groups that experienced a decline in prices were the housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups by 0.54 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate and year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Palangka Raya City in May 2024 are 0.18 percent and 1.21 percent respectively.
