August 2022: Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) of 4.26 percent

Abstract

The number of the workforce in August 2022 was 1,404.30 thousand people, a decrease of 6.01 thousand people compared to August 2021. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) was 67.23 percent, down by 1.44 percentage points compared to August 2021.
  • The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) was 4.26 percent, a decrease of 0.27 percentage points from the situation in August 2021.
  • The working population is 1,344.48 thousand people, a decrease of 1.97 thousand people compared to August 2021.
  • The main job fields with an increase in the number of workers are in the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries category, which reached 30.07 thousand people, while the largest decline occurred in the Processing Industry category, which was 23.48 thousand people compared to August 2021.
  • A total of 692.44 thousand people (51.50 percent) of the population work in informal activities, down by 4.00 percentage points compared to August 2021.
  • The percentage of underemployed workers decreased by 0.63 percentage points in line with the decrease in the percentage of part-time workers by 5.18 percentage points compared to August 2021.
  • There are 21.12 thousand people (1.01 percent of the working age population) who form Covid-19. The population who are Covid-19 consists of Unemployment due to Covid-19 (1.23 thousand people), Not the Work Force (BAK) due to Covid-19 (1.86 thousand people), While Not Working due to Covid-19 (1.00 thousand people), and Reduction of working hours due to Covid-19 (17.03 thousand people).
