Abstract

Out of 82 national CPI monitoring cities, 57 experienced inflation and 25 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Manado (3.30 percent) and the highest deflation was in Tanjung Pandan (1.06 percent). Palangka Raya and Sampit were ranked 11th and 29th highest inflation cities at the national level.
  • Inflation in Palangka Raya (0.46 percent) was influenced by increases in the price index of the foodstuffs group (1.94 percent), processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco (0.49 percent), clothing (0.35 percent), and health (0.34 percent).
  • Inflation in Sampit (0.26 percent) was influenced by increases in the price index of the foodstuffs group (1.36 percent), processed foods, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco (0.39 percent), and health (0.20 percent).
  • Based on the two reference cities (Palangka Raya and Sampit), Kalimantan Tengah Province experienced inflation (0.39 percent), followed by a calendar year inflation rate (1.78 percent) and a year-on-year inflation rate (3.02 percent) which was quite low .
  • The volatile foods component was the main driver of inflation in Palangka Raya (0.41 percent) and Sampit (0.39 percent).
